Mandy and Rob

November 27, 2006

Dallas and I headed out to the town of Vegreville (site of the world’s largest “Pysanka”!!) for Mandy and Rob’s wedding.
The Ukrainian Catholic church was an incredible setting for the ceremony.
It was far from pleasant outside, so we headed over to the reception hall early to take a few photos.
There was this really awesome gold checkered curtain on the stage at the hall. I absolutely love these photos!

This wedding party was so much fun! Everyone let their personalities shine .

The traditional Ukrainian kolomeyka dance was a definate highlight of the night.

A wintery contrast to the last photos! Scotty and Amanda braved the snow for some outdoor photos.

To warm up afterwards, we went for some tea at Cargo and James on Whyte Avenue and took a few more photos.

I’m back from Mexico (only slightly sunburned) and trying not to shiver with the change in temperature! Here’s a selection of some of Jeanette and Scott’s photos:

The hedges in front of the resort (Marival in Nuevo Vallarta) were covered in the cutest red blossoms. The very next day, I learned these flowers are fittingly nicknamed “bridal bouquet.”
The “classic” jumping photo, Mexico style!
And then we hit the beach, just in time to catch the sun setting…

The day before we left Mexico, we checked out the city of Puerto Vallarta, walked down the Malecon, and visited the market.

The most fantastic thing at the market (for me, anyhow) was finding Coke in old glass bottles!! It was so exciting that we just had to chase some birds around the square!!
Jeanette, Scott and over 30 of their closest friends and family kept me very well entertained (and well equipped with pina coladas and sunscreen) all week – thanks, everyone!

Amie and Stephen

November 3, 2006

(I’m a little embarassed to still be posting these lovely leafy autumn weddings when there’s a foot of snow on the ground!)

We shot Amie and Stephen’s “formal” photos before their ceremony. I know it’s considered untraditional, but it works out so smoothly – ask any wedding planner and they’ll tell you the same thing.

These two are childhood sweethearts! There was an elementary school class photo of Amie in the slideshow at the reception, and she’d written a little note to Stephen on the back. Awwwwww!

*ahem* I’d like to take a moment to thank the photographer that graciously left fresh rose petals all over the grass. We made good use of ‘em!

Woo! Air guitar!

Exchanging rings…

… and a few tears!

We took so many photos of the flowergirl – it was really hard to choose just one to post up here. What a cutie!

I’m off to Mexico on Monday (where it’s currently 31 degrees!!) If I can find WiFi there, I’ll update with some photos, otherwise, see y’all when I get back!
