Leah and Scott

February 19, 2008

My good friend Leah got married in her hometown of Camrose last month, and I was excited and honored that I got to be her photographer. It was cold and blustery, but we got a few photos outside – this one’s my favorite. I love wintery trees:

Leah is extra special – she was my roommate for awhile in university, and is funny and kind and probably one of the smartest people I know. I could write pages about how much fun we’ve had together – we shared a lot of good times in our little basement suit by the U of A. She also introduced me to chocolate sprinkles on toast, breakfast of champions.

And she knows how to pick ‘em too! Scott is a super interesting guy – a very gifted writer, and I just know they’re going to have an incredible life together.

Anyhow, on to some more photos!

Leah hugs her uncle, who traveled all the way from the Netherlands for the wedding. Check out those sushi pyjamas!

Leah’s adorable nephew Owen:

Speaking of adorable, Leah’s 3 year old niece Gabriella was the flower girl. I swear, half the photos I took this day include this little girl. She was so funny.

Here she is, just making sure Leah’s shoes match her dress.

Leah’s walk down the aisle – I love the proud look on her mom and dad’s faces. When Leah saw this photo, she told me the only thing she saw at the end of that aisle was Scott: everyone else was a blur.

Adorable flower girl strikes again!

The church was just outside Camrose, in a teenytiny town called Armena. I wanted to do some photos here because I liked the rusty old trucks – the train passing was sort of a bonus!

And one last photo – a cute moment during the speeches – the look on both their faces is so great!

Laura and Matthew

February 9, 2008

Yep,we were busy this January! Here are a few photos I’d like to share from Laura and Matthew’s wedding at the Hotel Macdonald in Edmonton.

This is my favorite photo from the day – a moment of laughter as we were starting the formal photo session – it’s so joyful and carefree.

Some more candid photos over a drink at the hotel.

The Hotel Mac is totally the place to be when it’s cold outside – no shortage of great places for photos!

The ceremony: a very touching detail shot of Laura holding her dad’s hand as they walk down the aisle towards Matthew.

This photo is a great note to end on – this is two of Laura’s nephews. The little guy crashed right after the ceremony, and her other nephew’s checking if there’s any bling in the ring box. So funny!

Jessica and Mark’s wedding was on a beautiful wintery day in Edmonton, and we had a fantastic time. First, here are a few photos from the ceremony:

We did formal photos at the McKay Avenue School Museum/Provincial Archives – I love this place! I think it might be my favorite indoor photo location – it’s so quirky and fun. This photo is in front of the old one-room schoolhouse outside.

A few more in the park outside.

A great moment during the speeches: Mark’s brother’s decided to make the newlyweds custom jerseys to celebrate the union of a die-hard Oilers fan with a Flames fans. Totally hilarious!
