I loved every single second of this day! You’ll see why!!

Just as the outdoor lakeside ceremony was set to begin, a huge storm blew past us! We all held our breath and watched the clouds dump rain on the lake just in front of us. Only a few wee drops hit us, and five minutes later, the sun came back and it was PERFECT!!!

While Tony and Pam were skipping merrily, Pam’s dress broke. Her daughter Prairie is protecting her bum from the camera!

They also love beer. And green. And especially green beer.

So on their wedding day, they decided to throw the best St. Patty’s day party their friends had ever seen.

People often ask me”Was that wedding on your blog REALLY as fun as it looked?!?” The answer on this one is a very definite YES YES YES! Here are a selection of my faves!

Pam and Matt’s first look. They were so excited! Matt was speechless when he saw his beautiful bride!

Fort Edmonton Park is seriously awesome. We had a lot of fun at Kelly’s Saloon!

The ceremony and reception were at Fort Edmonton’s Blatchford Hangar.

And right after the ceremony, everyone got served a pint of green beer by the wedding party!

The photo booth props made their way onto the dance floor pretty quickly!

One of my best pals in the whole wide world (and my roller derby hero) Bobbi, and the love of her life Jay, are gettin’ hitched.

They also just bought their dream home – a beautiful heritage house in idyllic Nelson, BC.

These 2 are so beyond amazing. I could write a whole bunch of mushy, sentimental stuff about how amazing their love for each other is, how their eyes light up when they look at each other, but I hope my photos can say all that for me so I don’t get all blotchy and teary-eyed sitting here at my desk.

Bobbi bought me a unicorn mask, and it is my favorite thing ever. I let Jay borrow it for a few shots (don’t worry, he gave it back. For all you know, I’m wearing it right now – bwahaha!)

Bobbi and Jay also let me indulge my Twin Peaks obsession with some of their photos. Awesomesauce.

It also marked something really different for me – I took absolutely no posed photos!

It was refreshing, fun, and challenging to just be like a fly on the wall, capturing the evening as a journalist would. I loved every single second!

And what a cool location for such a unique ceremony – on top of a parkade off Rice Howard Way! Sarah’s brother wrote the ceremony, and it had everyone in stitches.
