Welcome to this celebration of fun, magical (and sometimes silly)

Edmonton Wedding Photography

…for weirdos, queerdos, and everyone in between!

A woman blowing a pink bubble gum bubble stands in front of a large mural of a woman taking a photo with a camera. The mural depicts a woman with brown hair, blue glasses, and red nails, with a splash of yellow and brown colors in the background. Pigeons are on the ground around her, and she is standing below a metallic sculpture with arms raised.

My name is Buffy (she/her). I’m an Edmonton wedding photographer/lifelong weirdo who loves unboring wedding photography, grilled cheese sandwiches, excellent coffee, chocolate babka, neurodiversity, and RuPaul’s Drag Race. Chaotic Good vibes all the way!

I’m inspired by light, cool architecture, but most of all, by people and relationships. I’m here for the love, the vibe, the moment!

I used to be a professional photojournalist and was published in lots of papers and magazines, even extra fancy sounding things like Nat Geo and the Wall Street Journal.

I’ve also photographed several national and international commercial advertising campaigns, and I’ve won a bunch of cool awards for both editorial and wedding photography.

Do you love gratuitous adjectives? Well, here’s a bunch of good ones - inclusive, intuitive, honest, spontaneous, funny, insightful, lighthearted, moment-based, feeling-centric, joyful, colourful, warm-hearted, effervescent, quirky, magical, Buff-tastic. If that sounds kinda fun to you, then you’re in the right place!

Hi future friends!

I’m wholeheartedly dedicated to fucking up the patriarchy, and making things suck less in the wedding industry.

I believe in inclusive, gender-neutral posing, and I embrace body positivity.

I support feminist causes/ non profits, both with my time and my money, I am pro-choice (I’m an abortion doula!) I love queer and trans folx, and I believe in a free Palestine.

(It doesn’t have anything to do with photography, but I think putting this info on your website in 2025, especially in Alberta, is beyond important. Every choice we make, including the local wedding vendors and venues we give our money to, is political. We need to collectively support what’s right, and lift each other up.)

I support everyone’s right to marry the person they love, and will not work with any vendor, or at any venue, that has a history of discrimination against couple/s based on race, religion, gender identity, or sexual orientation. Please ask your venue if they support LGBTQI2+ weddings!)

Love your life.
Take photos of everything.

Great wedding photography is a gift you’re giving to your future marriage! And meaningful photos are a little like magic, they transform the love you can’t find words for into these tangible images that make you feel things, that bring you back to the moment in a heartbeat.

Your life is a celebration, and so is your love! Looking at your wedding photos reminds you of the depth and breadth of the joy you feel together, and it reminds you how deeply you’re loved, by your partner, by your family, by yourself…

… and love is what we’re here for, y’all! Take the photos! Feel all the feels! Reminisce, be sentimental, hang your fave photo on your wall so you’re reminded every day of your love!

Because when you look back on your wedding day in 20 years, you aren’t going to be thinking about the catering and the venue. Your memories will be those little moments in your photos, and the incredible people surrounding you.

In the iconic words of Tom and Donna on Parks and Rec, “Treat yo’self!” …to wedding photography that feels like you.

Love is in the little things.

I promise you won’t need one of those “must have photos” lists from some random wedding blog to get great results from your wedding photos. Life (and love) is unscripted, the best stuff lives in the in-between moments.

Don’t worry, I’ll get creative, interesting detail photos of your flowers and dress and shoes too!

I’ll also take literally hundreds of candid photos of your chosen family enjoying themselves and loving on you.

I’ll do my best not to pose you in weird-feeling, unnatural ways. I promise to help you make the photography part of your wedding day just as much fun as the rest of it!

Because I want you to look at those photos after the big day is done, and remember not just how your wedding looked, but, more importantly, how it felt.

If you’ve read this freaking far into this block of recipe blog style text that I need to write because ,apparently, capitalism and the google robots don’t think a picture is worth a thousand words, then congrats! You clearly already know your love deserves amazing photos that can bring you back to your happiest moments in an instant.

Not all weddings fit into the same box - please click the button below to give me the necessary details about your big day, and I’ll design a custom quote for your wedding.
