Jackson Hole Elopement Photography
Amangani/Wedding Tree/Bridger-Teton National Forest
The skies were serving drama at Jean and Katherine’s intimate elopement in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. Fun Fact- you can “self-solemnize” wedding vows in Wyoming, which means that you don’t need an officiant or wedding celebrant present for your ceremony, so it was just the three of us!
Jean and Katherine got ready together at their gorgeous hotel resort, Amangani, packed up a cute charcuterie picnic, and headed to the Wedding Tree in Bridger Teton National Forest for their emotional, and intimate vow exchange (I cried the whole time). They popped some bubbly, and cuddled together on a picnic blanket, reading old notes and cards to each other. Then we adventured to some beauty spots in Grand Teton National Park for more photos.
We were all watching the wedding day forecast with crossed fingers leading up to the wedding. The big day promised lots of rain, so we met up the night before to take a few photos at golden hour in one of their fave spots, Schwabacher’s Landing, with the incredible Grand Tetons as a backdrop, just in case we got rained out on the wedding day. (We magically dodged rain the following day, but I always offer a rain out shoot to couples for whom I’m travelling for an adventure elopement, just in case!)
I also photographed Katherine and Jean’s proposal story in Moraine Lake, in Banff National Park in Alberta.
This elopement was precisely as gorgeous as it looks, and these two will always hold a special place in my heart.
Romance is real, y’all! Queer love forever!
